“Trail Blitz” Work Party Volunteers Needed June 1st…

…AT THE ROBERT & JOSEPHINE KOESTNER PRESERVE

The Putnam County Land Trust (PCLT) is looking for volunteers for a work party on Sunday, June 1, 2014.  From 9 am to 12 noon, volunteers will be gathering to do trail work at the Robert and Josephine Koestner Preserve.  The Koestner Preserve is a 1.68 acre wooded parcel that sits along the east bank of the Peekskill Hollow Brook on White Road in Putnam Valley.

This trail work gathering will be special for a couple of reasons. First of all, it will be an early nod to National Trail Day which takes place on June 7, 2014.  It will also be the first time PCLT will endeavor to gather all our volunteer expertise together at once to accomplish a “Trail Blitz.” We will be working on boundary posting, habitat restoration, trail design and any other task it might take to get a new preserve up and running.

Join us for the whole morning (or just an hour if that is all you can spare) to get the Koestner Preserve up and running and to help us celebrate National Trail Day.  Please call us at 845-278-2808 or contact us by emailing volunteer@pclt.net.  Hope to see you at the “Blitz.”
