While spring is currently in the air as the late winter blooming plants including snow drops and winter aconites are pushing up their blossoms in great numbers around the Dorrie O Brien house, the Community Engagement Committee has been busy planning some upcoming events.

March with the Trustees and Members of PCLT in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mahopac on Sunday, March 12th.  The Parade kicks off at 2 pm although marchers need to report to their assigned places earlier.  We had a fun time marching last year and decided to repeat again this year.  Please think about joining with us.  Contact eventrsvp@putnamcountylandtrust.org for more information or to sign up

Breakfast with the Birds on Saturday, May 6th(Rain date is Sunday, May 7th

Starts at 7:30 in the morning as we venture into the Ice Pond basin to spot migratory song birds as they make their way to their summer habitats. Jim Nordgren will be leading the walk to identify and share information about the birds we will be seeing.

Tour of the QR Code addition to the trails on the Field Farmstead Preserve. May or June date TBD.  Join us for the Grand Opening of the QR code addition to the Field Farmstead Preserve.  Created by Lucas Bertone as part of his Eagle Scout project, this innovative guide to the preserve makes for an interesting and informative hike.

Putnam County Land Trust’s Benefit Gala, Saturday, August 12th at 5:30 pm.  Stay tuned for more information about this special event.
