The Putnam County Land Trust announced today that it will honor Mahopac
residents Joseph Montuori and Suzanne Walsh at its annual Benefit Dinner
Saturday, August 12th at the Centennial Golf Club on John Simpson Road in
Carmel beginning at 5:30 pm
.
Mr. Montuori and Ms. Walsh are being honored with the Putnam County
Land Trust’s Blue Heron Award for their service to the environment in
founding and promoting Sustainable Putnam, an organization dedicated to
developing ecologically sound and socially responsible communities across
Putnam County.

Sustainable Putnam was started by Mr. Montuori and Ms. Walsh and a
group of 60 ecologically conscious Putnam residents in February 2020. As
an incorporated, tax-exempt nonprofit, Sustainable Putnam quickly
developed several partnerships with businesses, local governments, and
other nonprofits in promoting successful programs.

PCLT President Terlizzi said, “We at the land trust are proud to honor
Sustainable Putnam and its founding members for fostering and promoting
environmental causes in Putnam. We are guided by the shared belief that
ecologically sound communities can improve the quality of life here in
Putnam County. Providing open space for communities to enjoy is a part of
that. The annual dinner and auction are a fun way to support what matters

most to all of us namely, the environment. Whether it is wildlife, water or
plant life that restores you, the properties we manage can help you balance
your life.”

“It will be a great evening with delicious food and good company. We
encourage all those who care about clean water, clean air and the natural
environment to show their support! Purchase a ticket! And join us!”

Tickets are $70 per person through August 1 st and $85 beginning August 2 nd .
