ANNOUNCING THIS YEAR’S HONOREES FOR PCLT’S 46TH ANNIVERSARY BENEFIT DINNER & AUCTION

Brewster, NY — The Putnam County Land Trust is pleased to announce this year’s honorees, to be celebrated at their upcoming 46th Anniversary Benefit Dinner & Auction on April 18th.  Robert Gentile of Camp Herrlich will be receiving the 2015 Blue Heron Award.  The Free to Speak Self Advocacy Group of PARC will be receiving the 2015 Leadership in Giving Award.

Under Executive Director Robert Gentile’s leadership, Camp Herrlich seeks to establish a dynamic learning and leadership center for children through seniors. Camp Herrlich provides positive recreational and educational programs to optimize personal and spiritual growth, foster international harmony, and encourage community partnerships to build foundations for an enriched quality of life for all. This center will be situated in a variety of suitable buildings that blend with the natural surroundings, wooded acreage and waterways that are accommodating, vibrant and inviting. This learning and leadership center will be a catalyst for individual achievement and a powerful beacon of good will, managed by a professional and trusted organization.

The Free to Speak Self Advocacy group is active with the Putnam County Land Trust as stewards of the Trust’s Lindera Loop Trail, the first handicap accessible trail in Putnam County.  This trail requires a higher level of maintenance and the group has dedicated themselves and has succeeded in keeping it in excellent condition.

A reception featuring live entertainment will be followed by a gourmet buffet dinner and a live auction run by Ivan and Laura Cohen of the Cohen Putnam Agency in Carmel.  PCLT President Judith Terlizzi says “Our members and people who care about the environment and open spaces in Putnam County look forward to this dinner as an opportunity to enjoy a nice evening out and catch up with the work of the Putnam County Land Trust. We are fortunate that so many people have a strong commitment to maintaining the natural beauty of Putnam County.”

The event will be held at the Starr Ridge Banquet and Conference Center at 38 Starr Ridge Road in Brewster on Saturday, April 18th, 2014 at 5:30pm.  Seating is limited and reservations are required. The event is BYOB.  Take advantage of special dinner pricing of $60 per person if paid by April 6th.  To make a reservation, inquire about advertising space or donate goods or services for the auction, call 845/278-2808 or visit the PCLT website at www.pclt.net.
