DESCRIPTION:For Immediate Release\nJudy Terlizzi\n845 743 3187\nThe Putnam County Land Trust announced today that it will honor Mahopac\nresidents Joseph Montuori and Suzanne Walsh at its annual Benefit Dinner\nSaturday, August 12th at the Centennial Golf Club on John Simpson Road in\nCarmel beginning at 5:30 pm\n.\nMr. Montuori and Ms. Walsh are being honored with the Putnam County\nLand Trust’s Blue Heron Award for their service to the environment in\nfounding and promoting Sustainable Putnam, an organization dedicated to\ndeveloping ecologically sound and socially responsible communities across\nPutnam County.\nSustainable Putnam was started by Mr. Montuori and Ms. Walsh and a\ngroup of 60 ecologically conscious Putnam residents in February 2020. As\nan incorporated, tax-exempt nonprofit, Sustainable Putnam quickly\ndeveloped several partnerships with businesses, local governments, and\nother nonprofits in promoting successful programs.\nPCLT President Terlizzi said, “We at the land trust are proud to honor\nSustainable Putnam and its founding members for fostering and promoting\nenvironmental causes in Putnam. We are guided by the shared belief that\necologically sound communities can improve the quality of life here in\nPutnam County. Providing open space for communities to enjoy is a part of\nthat. The annual dinner and auction are a fun way to support what matters\nmost to all of us namely, the environment.
